PVHS moves into Harmony CampusPublished 9/5/2007

The Harmony Campus Laboratory and the corporate offices of Poudre Valley Health System, as well as four local physician offices, has moved into a new 2-story medical office building that opened on Poudre Valley Health System’s Harmony Campus in southeastern Fort Collins.

"The new medical office building is another important step in our commitment to provide world-class health care to Fort Collins and region," said Rulon Stacey, president and CEO of PVHS. "We’re excited about moving there."

"This will allow us to have all of our corporate offices in one location, providing easy access to people who need to visit our administrative services, patient business services or other corporate services like the PVHS Foundation," he continued. "In addition, patients will have very easy access to the four physician offices and the Harmony Campus Laboratory."

The Harmony Campus Laboratory, which is a branch of the laboratory services department at Poudre Valley Hospital, opened for business August 27 in the new building.

The health system’s corporate offices - administrative, financial, business, and other services - will begin moving September 7 into the new building. The PVHS Foundation will have its main office located in the new building and will continue to have offices at Poudre Valley Hospital and the Medical Center of the Rockies..

During the construction phase of the new building, the 72,310-square foot structure was known as the "Redstone Building." Now, the building will officially be known by its address - 2315 E. Harmony - but some physician offices will continue calling it the "Redstone Building" for the benefit of their patients. The sign outside of the building will identify the structure by its address and not by the "Redstone" name.

The building was designed and constructed by Neenan Company. The interior space was sold as office condominiums to occupants.

Harmony Campus Laboratory reopened August 27 in new building and the size of the Harmony Campus Laboratory will almost triple - to about 6,700 square feet in the new building - over its current space next door in the ambulatory care center.

The additional space is necessary to meet the increasing need for laboratory services as the region’s population grows. The Harmony Campus Laboratory has continued to experience an annual 30-percent increase since Harmony Campus opened in 2000.

The additional space for the Harmony Campus Laboratory will provide more room for patient waiting areas and enhance privacy as more private rooms will be available where patient information can be acquired by the laboratory staff. Additional space in the technical area where blood and body fluid tests are analyzed will allow the laboratory to expand services in the future.

The entry into the laboratory will be immediately inside the first-floor main entrance at the new building. The PVHS corporate offices will be located on the second floor, while physician offices will be located on the first floor. For more information about the Harmony Campus Laboratory: 297-6400.

PVHS corporate offices will begin moving Sept. 7 and be moved completed by end of September. During the last two years most PVHS corporate employees have been located at the Preston Building, 2809 East Harmony Rd., about a mile east of the new building.

PVHS leased the second floor of the Preston Building for its temporary corporate offices as the health system’s staff grew in preparation of the opening of MCR in February 2007, as well as the expansion of patient care services at PVH.

The number of the heath system employees has grown from 1,200 a decade ago to about 4,000 full-time and part-time employees as of July 2007. Until the corporate office move was made to the Preston Building two years ago, most corporate employees worked within the PVH building on Lemay Ave.

All of the corporate employees now located in the Preston Building and some corporate employees now at PVH will relocate to the new building. About 115 corporate employees will occupy the new building.

The following dates are when the corporate offices will be ready to do business in the new building:

* Sept. 7: Legal, Managed Care, Marketing, Process Improvement, System Development.

* Sept. 12: Administration.

* Sept. 14: PVHS Foundation.

* Sept. 21: Accounting and Patient Business Services.

*Sept. 27: Coding and Compliance (both moving from Poudre Valley Hospital).

The new address for the corporate offices will be Poudre Valley Health System Corporate Offices, 2315 East Harmony Road, Suite 200, Fort Collins, CO 50528-8620. The new corporate office phone number is (970) 237-7000.

The new phone number will be available for use on Sept. 10. Until then, please continue to use the current phone number, (970) 297-6700, and the current PVHS Corporate Office address in the Preston Building at 2809 East Harmony Rd., Suite 200, Fort Collins, CO 80528-3144.
