West Nile creates higher patient volume at Front Range EDs

The summer months can be a busy time for many emergency departments in Colorado, simply because more people are outside doing things that may cause injuries. This year, however, the waiting rooms of many front range EDs are filled with more people than usual due to the onset of the West Nile Virus in this region of the country.
The University of Colorado Cancer Center recently introduced a clinical trial using ZD1839, a new biologic agent commercially known as Iressa, in combination with three-dimensional, conformal radiation and chemotherapy to treat stage III lung cancer.
